Problem: Create an album cover for an artist of your choice based on an art movement. The album cover design must encompass both the art movement and the chosen artist.
Process and Development: The primary goal is to fully understand the concept and principles of the Bauhaus movement to properly apply them to the design of the album. Based on researching the Bauhaus movement, I found that the Bauhaus movement consists of principles including functional shapes, simple color schemes, industrial materials, balanced asymmetry, and a holistic design. To see these principles already being demonstrated I focused on the work of Herbert Bayer; an Austrian born designer that was influential to the Bauhaus movement. I ended up settling on the album No Pressure by artist Logic.
Original Album: Logic's "No Pressure"
“I realized that everybody is a critic. They’re going to say they hate you, they love you, they this, they that, but at the end of the day, no matter what, I have to be confident in myself as a man and an artist.”
