Project Brief

Problem: To design a brand identity for an event called Digifest at the University of Houston. The deliverables needed to consist of a poster, a bi-fold, a postcard, and an access card. The design needs to follow all of the University of Houston's branding guidelines.

Process and Development: I was provided with the text and data that was required to incorporate into the design. I wanted to focus on networking while also showing that Digital Media is about the convergence of the digital world and humanity. Pinning Digital Media to just one type of media or technology didn’t feel right because of how big Digital Media truly is. Representing the idea of networking was also extremely important while researching. From the research conducted, the concept of networking, and showing the convergence of humanity with technology in an art form, I came up with an illustration and background that conveyed these ideas. To represent Digital Media without diminishing any one field, I created a Digital looking Earth with a grid around it to show the connectivity of all Digital Media using Adobe Illustrator. To show the convergence of Digital Media with humanity, I created a graphic of a hand using illustrator that would interact with the digital world that represented Digital Media.
