Problem: Every fall and spring semester the showcase event known as Digifest is held at the University of Houston at Sugar Land, hosted by the College of Technology, allows digital media seniors to display their portfolios and connect with industry professionals. My team members and I were asked to design an invitation for the event known as Digifest utilizing data to create a personalized experience for the recipient.
Process and Development: To better understand the event itself, we conducted research utilizing the Digital Media Programs website and asked various people that have attended Digifest what it is like. We then put together a database of different companies and businesses that deal with the various industries in digital media. The industries are Print Media, Packaging, Motion Media, eMedia, eCommerce, Gaming & Simulation. Digifest allows students to showcase their work and not be intimidated or discouraged. The event provides students a place to be undaunted by the fear of showing off their work. When creating the design, it was important to try and bring this feeling of “undaunted” to the invitation. The primary elements of the invitation are the applications of “Logic, Creativity, and Art and Print”.
